Busy OTE Weekend Wrap Up

Last week was an eventful one in OTE Arena, as the first two new signees of the 2024-25 OTE class were announced and another thrilling Spring Takeover event was completed 🔥

On Friday afternoon, OTE announced the signings of Akai Fleming and Chris Jeffrey, two highly rated prospects in the grad class of 2025, who will join the OTE family for the 2024-25 season 👏

Akai Fleming is a 6-4, 165 lb shooting guard from Marietta, Georgia who played at Osborne High School his junior season. During his junior season, Fleming led the Osborne Cardinals in scoring with an average of 19.6 PPG, while adding 4.2 RPG and 3.4 APG. Fleming committed to play college basketball for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in April of 2024 🐝

Chris Jeffrey is a 6-3 combo guard from Brooklyn, New York who played his junior season with Mt. Zion Prep in Maryland. Jeffrey helped lead the Mt. Zion Prep Warriors all the way to the state semifinals in his junior season. In the regular season, Jeffrey averaged 24.8 PPG, which has led to offers from Villanova, Rhode Island and Butler among others 🐶

OTE’s Spring Takeover event kicked off on Friday night with the Next Up 5’s competition, in which the best players from around OTE competed in a highlight-filled event ⭐

Daquan Davis set the OTE record for most points in the Takeover event with 59 points, as he was unstoppable all night long, while he also pulled down 18 rebounds 😤

Saturday night of Takeover began with an exhilarating King of the Court competition in which Karter Knox defended his crown, taking down Darrion Sutton in the finals of the event 👑

The night concluded with the dunk competition, which was filled with explosive dunks with some of the best athletes from around the league 🐰

In their final OTE event, Trey Parker and Jahki Howard faced off in the dunk competition finale. Parker narrowly beat out Howard with a series of high-flying powerful dunks that saw him wear the crown as he prepares to play at NC State next season 🏆
