Top Storyline: Who will be the go-to guy for the Cold Hearts?

The Cold Hearts suffered more roster turnover than almost any team in the league heading into this season and now the big question is who will step into the role of the go-to guy. Last season the Cold Hearts all season long played without a go-to scorer and instead relied on a committee approach where the on-court leader changed game to game and it appears this season could be more of the same. However, there are two players in particular who seem poised to catapult to new heights this season 🥶

Adam Oumiddoch returns after averaging 12.9 PPG last season but if his preseason results are any indication his game has skyrocketed in the offseason. In three preseason games, Oumiddoch averaged a league-leading 27.7 PPG on a blistering 45% shooting mark from deep. Another standout returner for the Cold Hearts who appears ready for a bigger role is Samis Calderon. Calderon was the lone player in the preseason to average a double-double as he scored 14.5 PPG while pulling down a league-leading 11.0 RPG ❤️‍🔥

The new class of Cold Hearts showed in the preseason that they complement each other well. Akai Fleming is the highest ranked recruit that the Cold Hearts brought in (top-60 in the class of 2025) and is lethal in the midrange and also showed he is adept at getting to the rim. Kai Rogers, who has committed to play for Oklahoma next season, is a bruising big man in the post who has soft touch around the rim. Wei Zhao is one of the most gifted passers in the league which showed through in the preseason with his league best 9.3 APG 🪙

The Cold Hearts are also the only team in Atlanta to bring in a new Head Coach, as Norm Richardson takes the helm this season. Richardson most recently served as an Assistant Coach for the Charlotte Hornets and brings his experience from the professional level to OTE in hopes of building the Cold Hearts into true title contenders. There are a lot of new pieces for the Cold Hearts and a little bit of time to mesh together might be all they need to go on a run to their first title in program history 🏆

The Cold Hearts begin their season on Friday, November 1 at 9 PM when they are set to play the City Reapers in a rematch of the 2024 semi-finals on Prime Video 📱
