Top Storyline: How will OTE’s newest team fair in the toughest league in the world?

Overtime Elite returns seven teams from the 2023-24 season and welcomes one new team to the fold for the upcoming season: Fear of God Athletics. Fear of God Athletics is based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and already has an immense following through their affiliation with Adidas. Fear of God Athletics may be the newest team in the league but that certainly doesn’t mean they are the least experienced 😇

Fear of God Athletics brings in an experienced roster in their inaugural season at OTE including three players ranked in the top-60 of their respective classes. The gem of their roster might be small forward Shon Abaev who is a top-30 ranked player in the class of 2025. Abaev is one of the early favorites for MVP at OTE this season, as his blend of skill and athleticism is unparalleled. Abaev will put his explosiveness on full display all season as there is no one more fearsome when coming down the court on a break 💥

Outside of Abaev, Fear of God Athletics also brought in Collin Paul, a top 60 ranked forward in the class of 2026, who makes up a dangerous front court with Abaev as he is a rangy, switchable player who will put the clamps on opponents' best guys. Cayden Daughtry also joins the Fear of God Athletics squad as one of the most promising young up-and-coming guards as evidenced by his top 20 national ranking in the class of 2027 🗜️

Fear of God Athletics are led by Cilk McSweeney who brings a winning pedigree to this new squad. McSweeney has a track record of success as he has led three separate teams to state titles in Florida in his 12 years of coaching experience. Fear of God Athletics may be a new squad but that doesn’t make them any lesser than any other team in the league. With their collection of talent they are fully capable of taking home a championship in their first year in the league 🏆
