FIBA U18 AmeriCup Bracket Set

Following the final group stage games on Wednesday, the 2024 FIBA U18 AmeriCup bracket is now set with the USA and Canada on the same side of the draw. OTE’s Mikel Brown Jr. and Efeosa Oliogu are now on a collision course for a potential semi-finals matchup 💥

Brown Jr. and Team USA have been relatively unchallenged thus far, going 3-0 in group play including a massive 150-54 victory over Belize in the second game of group play. The US, along with the Dominican Republic, went undefeated in group play and thus each drew one seeds as the tournament heads into bracket play 1️⃣

Brown Jr. has drawn the start in all three of Team USA’s games so far and is averaging 13.3 PPG, 3.7 APG and 2.7 RPG in 23.0 minutes per game. In the team’s win over Belize, Brown Jr. dropped his tournament-high with 19 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the field while also registering four assists and two steals 🔥

Oliogu and Team Canada dropped a heartbreaker in overtime to the Dominican Republic in their first game of the tournament but have found their stride since then. In their second game Canada put together a convincing 93-54 victory over Puerto Rico and followed that up with a dominant 89-53 win over Venezuela in the final game of group play 💪

Oliogu has been rock-solid for Canada so far, drawing the start in all three games while posting averages of 9.3 PPG, 5.0 APG and 2.7 RPG in 19.6 minutes per game. Oliogu’s strongest game came in Canada’s win over Puerto Rico in which he scored 13 points while also dishing out five assists and pulling down four boards 😤

Team USA will be back in action on Friday at 11:40 AM ET for the quarterfinals of the FIBA U18 AmeriCup against Puerto Rico. Team Canada will face off against Brazil in their quarterfinal matchup on Friday at 4:40 PM ET. If Team USA and Team Canada win they will face each other in the semi-finals on Saturday 📱
