The Reapers Score the Upset of the Year

And just like that there are no more unbeaten teams. The City Reapers came into Friday night's game with a single, unified mission and that was to hand the YNG Dreamerz their first loss and they did just that. Meleek Thomas was playing like a man possessed, scoring a team-high 28 points while also pulling down seven boards and dishing out five assists 😤

Thomas wasn’t alone as running mate Amari Evans balled out with a complete game of his own, tallying 19 points, five boards and five assists but most importantly he put Eli on clamps late in the game to seal the victory for the Reapers. Micah Tucker served his role admirably, rounding out the evening with 14 points and four assists 🔒

Eli Ellis may not have been able to close out the game but that didn’t stop him from having another excellent performance. Ellis closed the night with 36 points, 11 assists and eight boards as he finished just shy of a triple-double yet again. Isaac Ellis played a big part in the close game, putting in 17 points while also pulling down five boards 💪

In the second game of the night RWE took care of business from start to finish, dominating the Blue Checks to the tune of a 110-92 victory. RWE had a complete showing up-and-down the roster, as every player who touched the floor for them scored at least nine points. Taylen Kinney is one of the best scorer’s OTE has and he proved it again on Friday night, finishing out the evening with 27 points 🔥

Kinney’s backcourt mate, Jasper Johnson, had a strong showing of his own on both sides of the ball, rounding out his night with 24 points and three steals. Romelo Hill had the best showing of his career with ten points, which marks a career-high, while playing his usual pesky defense 🪤

For the Blue Checks, Kaden Magwood showed out in his first ever trip to OTE Arena, with 16 points in front of his future collegiate coach, Bruce Pearl of Auburn. Josiah Parker filled up the stat sheet in his first visit to Atlanta, rounding out the night with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five assists 🐯

The Blue Checks will look to get revenge against RWE tomorrow night at 5 p.m. on YouTube in the lone OTE game of the evening 📱
