๐Ÿ“ Top Storyline: Which version of the Cold Hearts are we going to get this season?

The Cold Hearts were essentially two different teams last season. The first Cold Hearts team was the 3-17 regular season team that blew fourth quarter leads in 11 of their 17 losses and looked truly incapable of playing clutch time offense. The second Cold Hearts team made a surprise run to the semi-finals with massive wins over the Diamond Doves and Blue Checks before eventually petering out in the semis as a result of too many injuries. Which leads us to the question at hand, which version of the Cold Hearts are we getting this season โ“โ“

The Cold Hearts return their leading scorer and face of the team Adam Oumiddoch this year which should help them overcome the losses of versatile wing Samis Calderon (Kansas) and bruising big man Kai Rogers (Oklahoma). Oumiddoch is one of the longest tenured players at OTE, entering his third season in the league, and that experience will be immensely valuable heading into the season. Oumiuddoch averaged 17.1 PPG including eight games with 20+ points. Oumiddoch seems to have taken another leap as a scorer over the summer and will surely look to catapult into the top ten scorers in the league this year ๐Ÿ€

Outside of Oumiddoch, the Cold Hearts return three other key figures from last yearโ€™s surprise playoff run. Asher Elson will serve as the teamโ€™s starting big man this season and his pick-and-pop skillset will be critical to the success of the Cold Hearts offense. Marcus Gillespie was quite possibly the biggest playoff riser in all of OTE last year, as he elevated his 3PT% to 54.8% on 5.2 attempts per contest. Omari Chaudhry was another major playoff riser, averaging 11.2 PPG and 4.4 APG in the playoffs and he looks to carry that success into a larger role this season ๐Ÿฅถ

The Cold Hearts added a new backcourt in the offseason, and the pair of highly touted guards are generating more buzz than almost anyone else in the league. Anderson Diaz is a top-25 ranked player in the class of 2027 who is an extremely skilled ball-handler and is also considered one of the most clutch players in high school basketball. Quinton Wilson is a five star guard in the class of 2028 who is best known for his transition playmaking and ability to score from deep ๐ŸŽ’

Norm Richardson returns for his second year at the helm of the Cold Hearts and he bears the responsibility of carrying the positive momentum the team built up in the postseason into this year. The Cold Hearts season kicks off on Friday, October 31 at 7 PM in OTE Arena and the game will be streamed on OTEโ€™s YouTube channel. Make sure to buy tickets for that game and all Cold Hearts games this year before itโ€™s too late ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ
