RWE on a Quest for The #2 Seed

RWE is on the hunt for a top two seed in the playoffs and that quest continues this weekend as they take on Jelly Fam in the Game of the Week on Friday at 7 p.m. on YouTube. RWE put together a nine game winning streak, the longest of any team this season, before falling to the City Reapers in their most recent game. Now RWE finds themselves tied with the City Reapers for second in the standings and are in need of a strong finish to the regular season to secure that two spot 🪢

RWE has already played Jelly Fam once this season, crushing them 94-80, thanks to three players - Parker Robinson, Taylen Kinney and Jasper Johnson - who all scored over 20 points in that contest. Jelly Fam is facing an uphill battle to pull off the upset but if they are going to accomplish their goals it will be on the back of their defense. Jelly Fam hasn’t given up over 90 points in a game since the beginning of December while RWE has scored over 90 in nine of the last 11 games 🔒

The core of Jelly Fam’s stingy defense and their best hope against RWE is their paint protection, as evidenced by their league best 5.4 blocked shots per game. Logan Alexander and Thomas Bassong are the team’s leading shot blockers, combining for 3.0 blocks per game between them ✋

Following the RWE vs. Jelly Fam contest, the Diamond Doves will be taking on the Cold Hearts at 9 p.m. on Prime Video. The Diamond Doves secured their first ever win in Atlanta last weekend when they took down the Cold Hearts 99-87 🕊️

Saturday is highlighted by two exciting matchups, the first being played between Jelly Fam and the Cold Hearts. Jelly Fam narrowly squeaked out an 81-77 win in their lone meeting with the Cold Hearts this season, thanks to a monster 25 point performance from Bassong. The weekend closes with the YNG Dreamerz taking on the Diamond Doves. The Dreamerz have played the Doves twice this season and won those two matchups by an average of 41 points, their largest average margin of victory against any team 😴
