This weekโs slate of OTE games begins on Friday at 7 p.m. with yet another marquee matchup, this time between the YNG Dreamerz and the City Reapers. The Dreamerz have taken care of every challenge thrown in front of them thus far and their next big test comes against the Reapers, who are the only team with a .500 or better record they have yet to face โ๏ธ
Eli Ellis continues to make his case as the greatest player in OTE history. On Saturday night last week in a win over RWE, Ellis scored 55 breaking the single game OTE scoring record (the previous record was 50, set by Ellis on two separate occasions). Ellis now owns eight of the 12 highest scoring games in OTE history and far and away holds the highest all-time scoring average. This season Ellis leads the league in both scoring (33.8 PPG) and assists (8.0 APG) ๐คฏ
If the Reapers want to have hope of winning this game they will lean on the laurels of reigning DPOY and notorious Eli Ellis stopper, Amari Evans. Evans is the league-leader in steals per game this season (3.3 SPG) and continues to dominate the opposing teams leading scorer on a nightly basis ๐
However, Evans might not even be the favorite for DPOY this season as Eliโs brother, Isaac Ellis, has put together a convincing case of his own. In the Dreamerz game last Friday night against Fear of God Athletics, Isaac matched up with one of the leading MVP candidates, Shon Abaev, and held him to 2-for-15 shooting from the field in the Dreamerz win ๐ค
Following the opener, RWE and the Blue Checks will play a double header with one game on Friday at 9 p.m. and the next on Saturday at 5 p.m. on YouTube. This marks the Blue Checks first trip to Atlanta this season and will be the first good look at the leagueโs second leading scorer, Kaden Magwood โ
