Oliogu, Brown Jr. Compete at AmeriCup

Mikel Brown Jr. and the U18 USA National Team kicked off the 2024 FIBA Menโ€™s U18 AmeriCup on Monday night with an 88-66 win over Argentina in pool play ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Brown Jr. was instrumental in securing Team USAโ€™s first victory, as he started and went for 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals in 27 minutes of action โญ

Brown Jr. put Team USA on the board to begin the game with a three-pointer from the left wing to get the momentum going early. He hit his second three of the night at the 5:38 mark of the first quarter, which sparked another 10-0 run for the Americans to put them up by six at the end of the first ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Brown Jr. served as a calming presence throughout the evening for Team USA, quieting a last gasp run in the third quarter with a big finish to put Team USA back up by nine and leading to the eventual closeout ๐Ÿ’ช

Elsewhere at the AmeriCup, Efeosa Oliogu got the start for Team Canada, and despite falling to the Dominican Republic 77-79 in overtime, Oliogu put up an impressive stat line of ten points, two rebounds and five assists ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Both Team USA and Team Canada will continue their tournaments on Tuesday with Canada slated to play Puerto Rico at 11:40 AM and the USA scheduled to face Belize at 4:40 PM. Both games will be live streamed on YouTube ๐Ÿ“ฑ
