OTE Finals Game 2, An Instant Classic

Finals - Game 2 Recap:

Game 2 of the OTE Finals between the City Reapers and RWE was an all-timer, as the Reapers squeaked out the thriller to knot up the series at one game apiece. Kentucky commit Karter Knox had an opportunity to send the game to OT at the buzzer, but his three-pointer from the corner bounced off the back of the iron, sealing the game for the Reapers. Since RWE won Game 1, the series is now tied and becomes a best-of-3 affair with both teams showing they have what it takes to win it all ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Jaeden Mustaf has been irreplaceable for the Reapers in this series and that was never more true than with 30 seconds left in the game when he drove to the basket and put down a shot between two players to put the Reapers up two possessions. After trading a couple of baskets, RWE found the ball back in their hands down four with just four seconds to play. Darrion Sutton, who prior to tonight hadnโ€™t hit a triple since December 8th, showed he had ice in his veins as he hit a step-back three-pointer from the corner to put RWE within one with four seconds left to play. On the inbounds, RWE immediately fouled Bryson Tiller who calmly knocked down both of his free throws despite the crowd being the loudest itโ€™s been all season long ๐ŸงŠ

Tiller had one of his strongest nights of the season, scoring and attacking the rim with confidence which resulted in 21 points and six boards. Mustaf spent the entire night keeping the ship afloat, as he rounded out the night with 16 point and seemed to score every time RWE started to build some momentum ๐Ÿ’ช

For RWE, Daquan Davis was unconscious for most of the night, hitting a career-high 37 points, the highest scoring game by a non-Eli Ellis player this season, while also notching six assists, four boards and three steals as he simply could not be stopped on either end. Knox, who announced his commitment to play his next season at Kentucky during halftime of this game, had himself a mighty fine night, scoring 23 points, as he was the only player alongside Davis to score in double figures ๐Ÿˆ

Both teams will get five days off before they square off for the pivotal Game 3 of the OTE Finals which will be played next Thursday at 7PM on Prime Video ๐ŸŽž๏ธ
