Cold Hearts Survive and Advance
Round 2 - Game 3 Results:
The injury-riddled Cold Hearts came into their win-or-go-home Game 3 against Jelly Fam dialed in from the jump leading to a 93-87 victory and setting up a date with their rivals the City Reapers in the semi-finals. With big man John Bol out for the game, the Cold Hearts had a gaping hole to fill at the center position and it was Kanon Catchings who stepped up and filled that role unbelievably, ending the night with 21 points and 15 boards. The entire Cold Hearts team played with an undeniable intensity with only seven players available and although the game was close all the way into the fourth quarter their energy wore Jelly Fam down culminating in the Cold Hearts trip to the semi-finals 🥶

Mikel Brown Jr. sealed the game with a strip on Jelly Fam’s Ian Jackson in the waning seconds before pushing the ball up ahead to Reynan Dos Santos who knocked down an acrobatic layup to put the Cold Hearts up six with 30 seconds left to play. Trey Parker was instrumental in the win, serving as the perfect connecting piece all evening long, finishing the afternoon with 16 points, nine boards and two highlight-reel blocks 🎞️
In the last game of Jelly Fam’s season, it was Dellquan Warren who showed up to the dance, scoring a career-high 25 points while also generating two steals. In Jelly Fam superstar Ian Jackson’s final game with the squad he put up a stat line of 18 points, six boards and four assists and did everything in his power to push his squad over the finish line but in the end came up just short 🕺
