Four Teams Play OTE Season Opener in North Carolina
The week begins with four games taking place in Lincolnton, North Carolina as all of Rolling Loud, YNG Dreamerz, Diamond Doves and Blue Checks will play in their first games of the season. The Diamond Doves (Phoenix, AZ) and Rolling Loud (Los Angeles, CA) will each be traveling for a series of games on the East Coast as they get their seasons underway ๐ฉ๏ธ
City Reapers Look to Stay Unbeaten
Despite entering the season as the OTE reigning champion with just one loss in team history, the City Reapers were slept on coming into the season - ranking fifth in the preseason Strictly Rankings. The Reapers flipped those expectations on their head with an undefeated weekend over two of the top teams in the league, thanks to the well rounded play of their roster
The Reapers set the tone with a bruising style of play, as they out-rebounded their opponents by a +40 margin over the weekend
This weekโs OTE Player of the Week Jah Jackson set the tone for the Reapers with his team leading 9.5 RPG, while also showing up as a menacing presence on the defensive end with three steals vs. the Cold Hearts ๐

RWE Looks for First Win After Huge Preseason
On the other end of the spectrum, RWE came into the season with big expectations as the league's newest team loaded with talent, but they dropped their first two games of the season this past weekend. Things arenโt all bad for RWE though, as reigning Defensive Player of the Year Somto Cyril is playing better than ever. Cyril is averaging a league leading 16.5 RPG and also has a league best ten blocks as he continues to look like the most dominant post presence at OTE ๐ค

Naas Cunningham Returns to OTE Arena
The second game on Friday evening will be played between Rolling Loud and Cold Hearts at 8:30PM on YouTube. The Cold Hearts went 1-1 over the weekend with a convincing win over RWE on Friday before a letdown loss to the City Reapers on Saturday. The Cold Hearts success is dictated by the play of their dynamic guards, Mikel Brown Jr. and Adam Oumiddoch. In the teamโs two point victory over RWE, the explosive guards combined for 49 points, as they propelled the team to a victory. However, in their blowout loss to the City Reapers, the two combined to score just 20 points ๐ณ

Rolling Loud comes to town for the first time this season with an immensely talented squad - six players are signed to play Division I basketball next year. The star of the team is former Cold Hearts standout Naas Cunningham, who will return to Atlanta with a homecoming win on his mind. In the 2022-23 season, Cunningham led the Cold Hearts with 14.4 PPG while also proving to be a strong defensive player with nearly two SPG ๐ฅ
