The City Reapers and YNG Dreamerz reestablished that they are the teams to beat this season with two convincing wins on Friday night. Read all about both games down below.
Reapers and Dreamerz Stay on Top
The Cold Hearts nearly put together an all-time comeback against the City Reapers but came up just short, eventually falling 93-85. The Cold Hearts, who trailed by 12 with a minute to go, put together a Herculean 9-0 run in 20 seconds to cut the Reapers lead to three but they were unable to put the finishing stamp on their epic run. Meleek Thomas returned to action after a two game absence and recorded his third straight double-double with a team-high 26 points and ten rebounds ๐ช
Amari Evans was on a mission on defense recording an OTE season high six steals to go along with 17 points and four assists of his own. Micah Tucker made his greatest offensive impact in the early goings of the year with 16 points and nine boards โ
For the Cold Hearts, Wei Zhao has been unleashed as a scorer, as he scored a career-high 23 points as he rained down five triples including some massive ones in the comeback attempt. Akai Fleming is getting things going, recording his second straight game with 20 or more points, a big night for the recent Georgia Tech signee ๐
In the second game of the evening, the YNG Dreamerz dominated from start to finish, taking down Jelly Fam 79-63 in a game that showed what a juggernaut the Dreamerz truly are. The Dreamerz led by as much as 22 and did all of that with Eli Ellis scoring a season-low 18 points. Kohl Rosario put together a career night with a personal best 27 points and a monster defensive line of three steals and two blocks which included a number of highlight-reel worthy plays ๐ฝ๏ธ

Abu Yarmah logged a season-high of 14 points while doing his usual dirty work on the glass with seven rebounds. Isaac Ellis continues to impress in the early portion of the season, putting up a stat line of 11 points and and a team-high nine rebounds 2๏ธโฃ
For Jelly Fam, Jermel โMel Melโ Thomas did his best to keep the team afloat knocking down four triples including a nice and-one three to cut the lead to as close as nine. Big man Logan Alexander recorded his first double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 boards while also recording five blocks establishing himself as one of the leagueโs elite rim protector ๐
