RWE, CHS Pick Up Big Wins
The Cold Hearts pulled off an incredibly clutch 95-92 win over Fear of God Athletics thanks to heroics from Anderson Diaz and Asher Elson in the closing seconds of the game. Leading by one, Diaz knocked down two ice cold free throws to extend the lead to three. Following the clutch shots at the line from Diaz, Elson played some of the best defense of his life blocking a game-tying three-pointer from FGAโs KโNard Callendar ๐ฅถ
Diaz had one of the most spectacular games in OTE history, registering an obscene 17 assists, breaking the previous OTE single-game assist record by three. Adam Oumiddoch continued his furious scoring pace, putting up another 34 points tonight to go along with seven boards, two blocks and a steal ๐ช
For FGA, Cayden Daughtry was absolutely lights out, scoring 40 points, already his fifth game of the season with 35+ points, while also securing a game-high three steals. Despite missing the game-tying three, Callendar had his fingerprints all over this game, scoring 19 points and securing 11 boards in addition to his three blocks and a steal on the defensive end ๐ค
RWE took over on Saturday night, defeating the Diamond Doves 107-86 thrusting them back into contention for a top four seed in the playoffs. With the win, RWE moves to 5-4 and while they still sit at fifth in the standings, they are now just half a game back from Fear of God Athletics. Peyton Miller had his strongest showing of the season, posting a career-high 24 points, his third 20+ point game of the season, to go along with five assists and five boards ๐
In addition to Miller, Parker Robinson also showed out, scoring 24 points of his own on three made triples while also logging three assists and three boards. Taylen Kinney had a stellar game on offense, recording 20 points and seven assists, but where he really made his mark was on defense. Kinney registered a career-best six steals which is tied for the second most in a game by any player this season ๐
In the Diamond Doves first appearance in Atlanta this season, Marcus McDonald made a name for himself, logging a game-high 25 points which he accomplished thanks to five made triples. In just his fourth game of the season, Ari Moulieris had his best game as a Dove with 17 points and a team-high seven boards ๐๏ธ
