What is OTE?

Overtime Elite is an 8-team basketball league with the top 15-20-year-old elite players from around the world. OTE is grounded in a foundation of basketball development, academic acceleration, and economic empowerment. In addition, OTE offers unprecedented exposure to our players both as it relates to NBA scouts and college coaches but also to a massive social audience and key brand partners. 🏀

What makes OTE special?

The creation of the league as a social-first fan experience brings fans closer to the action, on their own terms, while still keeping the basketball at the highest and most competitive in the country. For the players what sets OTE apart is the year round training and development with individual and group training intended to take our players to the next level. In college there are time restrictions (20 hours a week) with team practice during the season, and at OTE that mark is hit by Wednesday 💪

Who are the eight teams in OTE?

The eight teams that are a part of Overtime Elite this season are the City Reapers, Cold Hearts, RWE, Blue Checks, Diamond Doves, Fear of God, Jelly Fam and YNG Dreamerz. Three teams (City Reapers, Cold Hearts and RWE) are based out of Atlanta while the other five teams are based around the country. The Blue Checks (Charlotte) and YNG Dreamerz (Lincolnton) are based out of North Carolina, the Diamond Doves are from Phoenix, Arizona, Jelly Fam is located in New York City and OTE’s newest team Fear of God Athletics is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida 🥇

How are players chosen to be a part of OTE?

The scouting and recruiting team at Overtime Elite scours the world with the aim of bringing in the most talented collection of players which is how the majority of players are selected to become a part of OTE. In addition, OTE also hosted the first ever OTE Dream Tryout this year in which 20 players were invited to participate in a tryout for a spot on one of OTE’s teams 🔍

How can I watch OTE games?

All OTE regular season and postseason games are open to the public and tickets can be purchased on OTE’s website. If you are watching from home, games are featured on Amazon Prime Video and YouTube and all league social channels📱

Do the players at OTE go to school?

The players at OTE are all students and attend school at OTE Academy. All players on the Atlanta based teams that are still in high school when they join OTE finish their requirements toward graduation at OTE Academy and receive a Georgia high school diploma after meeting those requirements. The players on the other five teams around the country are all enrolled at the affiliate schools of their teams and attend classes and receive high school diplomas. 🎒

Are OTE athletes professionals?

OTE now focuses on players who will remain eligible for college. All current OTE players are on scholarship, NOT paid professional athletes, although they can still make money off of their Name, Image and Likeness 📸

Can players at OTE play collegiate basketball?

Yes. Going into season four of Overtime Elite, all players retain their college eligibility and have the option to play collegiate basketball following their time at OTE 🎓

Who are some notable OTE alumni?

There are eight OTE alumni who enter the 2024-25 season on an NBA roster: Amen Thompson (Rockets), Ausar Thompson (Pistons), Alex Sarr (Wizards), Rob Dillingham (Timberwolves), Tyler Smith (Bucks), Dominick Barlow (Hawks), Jaylen Martin (Nets) and Jazian Gortman (Mavericks). OTE also has some rising stars in the collegiate game with Karter Knox (Arkansas), Kanon Catchings (BYU), Ian Jackson (UNC) and Somto Cyril (UGA) ⛹️‍♂️
