🥶 Cold Hearts Keep Pace With Dreamerz
Sets up a huge week in Indianapolis to end the regular season
Top Seeds Up For Grabs
Game Results:
Saturday night at OTE Arena delivered two games with playoff implications as the Cold Hearts and Rolling Loud came out with the victories to gain some momentum heading into the final week of the regular season.
The first game of the night was a battle of two teams looking to keep pace with the YNG Dreamerz after their big win last night. The Cold Hearts controlled most of the game and survived a late run by the City Reapers to get the win and are tied for first with two games remaining in the regular season. The top two seeds automatically qualify for the semi-finals that start on March 1.
Five players scored in double figures for the Cold Hearts led by Kanon Catchings with 19 points. Mikel Brown and Trey Parker both had 15 points.
The first quarter told the story for the Cold Hearts as they outscored the City Reapers 25-13 and held par after that with each quarter being close.
Amari Evans had 24 points and eight rebounds to lead the City Reapers in both categories.
The second game was similar to the first with Rolling Loud controlling the game until RWE made a late run in the fourth quarter and had a couple chances to tie, but couldn’t get one last shot to go in.
Larry Johnson led Rolling Loud with 22 points and eight rebounds. Martin Somerville matched him with 22 points and eight assists. Naasir Cunningham had a good offensive game as well with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Karter Knox was the only reason RWE had a chance at the end, carrying them with 29 points and six rebounds.
OTE has entered the final week of its regular season and the top six seeds are still up for grabs. The YNG Dreamerz, Cold Hearts, City Reapers and RWE will all play their last two games in Indianapolis around the NBA All-Star game and the other four teams in the league will be playing out in Phoenix to close out the year.
The first playoff night for OTE is February 20 that will have two games between the five and eight seed and the six and seven seed.
