9 PM - Cold Hearts vs. Blue Checks (YouTube)
Friday night will see both Jelly Fam and the Blue Checks make their first appearance in Atlanta this season for two high octane games. Jelly Fam will look to get revenge on the City Reapers, after giving the Reapers their lone win of the season the last time these two teams met. The Cold Hearts and Blue Checks played earlier this week and the Blue Checks came up one possession shy of pulling off a 19-point comeback ๐ช
Jelly Fam comes into ATL desperately in need of a win with a record of 2-5 and no win would be sweeter than revenge against the Reapers. The Reapers eked out a three point victory the last time these two teams met, thanks in large part to a 20 point, 11 rebound performance from burgeoning star Jeremy Jenkins ๐
For Jelly Fam to get a win they will lean heavily on Yandel German who is in his third year as a member of the team. German is one of the most underrated players in OTE history and his stats back that claim up. German is top five in the league in assists all-time with 147 in his career and he is averaging a career best 7.0 APG this season. German is also an elite defender who can generate steals with the best of them. German is averaging a league best 3.7 SPG, thanks in large part to an eight steal performance against the Diamond Doves. German is all the way up to a tie for second in career steals, with 89 across his career on Jelly Fam ๐
The second game of the night will feature a tense rematch between the Cold Hearts and Blue Checks which is both a rematch from earlier this week and a rematch of an intense quarterfinals series in the 2025 OTE playoffs. The Blue Checks almost rallied all the way back from a 19-point deficit but a three-point attempt at the buzzer for Abu Riak came up just short. Anderson Diaz continued his ascent into superstardom with a 27 point, seven assist and six rebound performance in the win ๐คฉ
The Cold Hearts are on an absolute heater right now, winning their last three in a row, including a major upset victory over the previously undefeated YNG Dreamerz. Diaz is becoming a superstar before our eyes, averaging 23.5 PPG over his last four games. In addition, Diaz is averaging 7.2 APG which stands as the third best mark in the league. The Cold Hearts are searching for their first ever five game winning streak in program history and Diazโ emergence will be critical to all of the teamโs success going forward ๐ฎ
