OTE Halloween Weekend Preview

Opening weekend in Atlanta is finally here and with it four banger matchups that feature some of the top stars at OTE. We will get our first glimpse at which teams are for real and which teams have some work to do this season. It all kicks off with RWE vs. the Cold Hearts at 7 PM Friday night 🎉

RWE vs. Cold Hearts

📍 When: Friday, October 31 @ 7 PM

📍 Key Matchup: Taylen Kinney (RWE) vs. Anderson Diaz (Cold Hearts)

The season kicks off on Friday with a premiere matchup between RWE and the Cold Hearts. RWE was the best offense in the league last year and they are shaping up to be an even better offensive unit this year. Superstar and MVP favorite, Taylen Kinney, is back and better than ever with the best supporting cast he has ever had around him. However, he will have his work cut out for him on opening night as a new challenger approaches in the form of Anderson Diaz. Diaz is the Cold Hearts newest star and he is one of the scrappiest players the league has ever seen and he will do everything in his power to right the past wrongs of the Cold Hearts 🤩

City Reapers vs. YNG Dreamerz

📍 When: Friday, October 31 @ 9 PM

📍 Key Matchup: Isaac Ellis (YNG Dreamerz) vs. Styles Clemmons (City Reapers) 

The second game of opening night is a rematch of the 2025 OTE Finals but this matchup will look vastly different than the last time we saw these two teams. The YNG Dreamerz will be without reigning MVP Eli Ellis (South Carolina) while the City Reapers will be without MVP runner-up Meleek Thomas (Arkansas) and DPOY Amari Evans (Tennessee). The Dreamerz will be led this year by last year’s DPOY runner-up Isaac Ellis who has already taken a step up as the league’s leading assist man through two games. Ellis will be tasked with slowing down the City Reapers lead playmaker Styles Clemmons who is ready to take on a bigger role after a breakout performance in the OTE Playoffs 🔒

RWE vs. FaZe

📍 When: Saturday, November 1 @ 5 PM

📍 How to Watch: YouTube

📍 Key Matchup: Mathias Vazquez (RWE) vs. Marcus Spears Jr. (FaZe)

FaZe will make their debut on Saturday night against RWE and with them comes one of the biggest stars in the country. Marcus Spears Jr. is the number one ranked player in the class of 2027 and is an unstoppable rangy forward who can score from literally anywhere on the floor. On paper, RWE would seem to be in deep trouble with this particular matchup, however, they have a secret weapon of their own. Mathias Vazquez is one of the top ranked international prospects and he is the perfect foil for Spears as he has already demonstrated the ability to use his size and strength to slow down other elite prospects 💥

Cold Hearts vs. YNG Dreamerz

📍 When: Saturday, November 1 @ 7 PM

📍 Key Matchup: Adam Oumiddoch (Cold Hearts) vs. Caleb Jones (YNG Dreamerz)

The matchup between the Cold Hearts and YNG Dreamerz could be an offensive explosion, as the Dreamerz are already averaging an absurd 108.0 PPG in the early portion of the season. The Cold Hearts will need a lot of buckets to hang with the Dreamerz and they will turn to their leading scorer from last season Adam Oumiddoch. Oumiddoch averaged 17.1 PPG last year and he feels like a virtual lock to up that number this year and land in the top ten of scorers in the league. The Dreamerz have a surprise leading scorer in this early portion of the season. Caleb Jones, a relatively unheralded prospect out of Savannah, Georgia, is averaging an absurd 30.5 PPG on 61.1% shooting and no one thus far has proved capable of slowing him down 🔥
