OTE Week 3 Preview
The OTE season rolls on with seven more games this weekend across two cities. In Atlanta, the league-leading YNG Dreamerz will be in town with the Blue Checks to take on the reigning champion City Reapers and RWE. Starting Friday, there will be games in New York between Jelly Fam and Cold Hearts, who will then take on the Diamond Doves on Saturday before heading back to Atlanta. The hosts in New York, Jelly Fam, will play the Diamond Doves on Sunday to cap the third week of the OTE Season ๐
As discussed earlier, Eli Ellis turned a historic scoring week into his first OTE Player of the Week honor of this season. In what was an undefeated, 3-0 week for the YNG Dreamerz, it was Eli Ellis who stole the show. Ellis averaged 37 PPG, including the OTE single game record for most points in a game when he dropped 44 in the teams win over Rolling Loud last Tuesday. Feel free to download any of his highlights here ๐น
The Blue Checks offense has been off the charts to begin the season, as they lead the league with a scoring average of 90.5 PPG. Their explosive offense hasnโt taken away from their defense either, as they allow the fewest PPG at just 78.0, giving them an impressive point differential of +12.5. The Checks are led by superstar Rakease Passmore, who is committed to play for the Kansas Jayhawks next season, a top ten player in the league in both points (19.0) and rebounds (8.5) per game ๐ค
Winless and down star big man Somto Cyril (out with a left hand injury), RWE rallied to capture a must-win game over the City Reapers on Friday night. Stars Karter Knox and Daquan Davis put the shorthanded team on their backs, as they combined to score 41 points in what was an inspiring performance. RWE came into the season with grand expectations, ranking as the number one team in the preseason Strictly Rankings, and with a win under their belt appear to be back on track. Theyโll need another big performance from their guards to get another win ๐
The City Reapers come into their game against the Dreamerz boasting the leagues highest field goal percentage, thanks large in part to a steady diet of shots at the rim. Leading the way for the Reapers is big man Jah Jackson, who is shooting 66.7% from the field, the best mark of any player in the league to have taken 15 or more shots this season ๐ช
