The Doves are BACK

📍 City Reapers 99, YNG Dreamerz 85

📍 Diamond Doves 89, Hellstar 85

The Diamond Doves are so back! After becoming the first ever team to miss the playoffs last season, the Doves rebounded in a major way with a 89-85 win over Hellstar to start the 2026-27 season. Up three with nine seconds left, Hellstar called a timeout that they did not have, resulting in a technical free throw for the Doves that effectively iced the game. Munir Greig finished just shy of a triple double with an absurd debut stat line of 24 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists and has officially put the Doves back on the map 🕊️

The Doves had two other 20+ point scorers in this one with Dream Tryout winner Kyle Amadi having an impressive OTE debut of 22 points to go along with three steals. The last guy on the Doves to get to 20 was Ean Britt who hit the shot to put the Doves up three in the closing seconds of the game 🔥

For Hellstar, guard Zack Dawson cooked in his OTE debut, scoring 21 points and showing off his shifty ball-handling all night long. Antoine Caughman Jr., the highest ranked player on Hellstar, put up a double-double in his first OTE action, scoring 12 points and dishing out ten assists, just the second ever player to record a double-double with assists in their OTE debut 🤩

OTE Halloweekend opened with a bang thanks to the City Reapers making a statement in their first game of the season with a 99-85 victory over their long time rival the YNG Dreamerz. The City Reapers had five players hit double digits in scoring, strengthening the case that the Reapers are the deepest team in the league. Lyris Robinson led the team in scoring with 19 points while also ripping down seven boards 🎃

Elsewhere for the Reapers, recent Mississippi State commit Jalen White scored 17 points of his own and matched Robinson’s rebound total of seven. Paul Osaruyi made an early case for Defensive Player of the Year with a robust defensive line of four steals and four blocks, just the fourth time in OTE history that someone has recorded 4+ steals and 4+ blocks in the same game 💀

The YNG Dreamerz suited up for the first time without an Ellis brother in three years and even though they lost they put up a heck of a fight and had a number of players who look like they are ready to be face of the team. Bryson Campbell led all players with 21 points and got to his midrange with ease while Caleb Wells was a big time contributor with 19 points including five three-pointers 👌

Make sure to tune in tomorrow for some Halloween basketball with the Diamond Doves taking on the City Reapers at 3 PM before the YNG Dreamerz and Hellstar play at 5 PM on OTE’s YouTube channel 📱
