The Reapers Make a Statement

📍 City Reapers 126, Diamond Doves 86

📍 Hellstar 93, YNG Dreamerz 82

The City Reapers fully established themselves as the team to beat at OTE this season, setting the record for most points scored in a game in OTE history in their 126-86 dismantling of the Diamond Doves on Halloween. Everyone on the City Reapers contributed as seven different players scored in double figures, only the fifth time this has been done in OTE history. The sleeper star of the season is the City Reapers point guard Aaron Ona Embo who put together a preposterous stat line of 22 points, ten assists and seven rebounds, nearly becoming the first player this season to record a triple-double 🔥

Lyris Robinson had another strong showing with a double-double of 20 points and ten rebounds, eight of which came on the offensive end. Paul Osaruyi continued to strengthen his DPOY case with three steals and a block to go along with 17 points and six boards 💪

For the Diamond Doves, Kyle Amadi is making his case as the best ever OTE Dream Tryout winner, this time scoring a game-high 30 points which included five triples. Munir Greig hit the 20-point mark for the second straight night, logging exactly 20 points and five rebounds 🕊️

In the second game of Halloween weekend, Hellstar notched their first ever win, defeating the YNG Dreamerz 93-82. Hellstar moved to 1-1 with this win and are right back in the mix for contending for a top playoff spot. Meanwhile, the YNG Dreamerz fell to 0-2 and are still in search of answers on the offensive end without an Ellis brother to buoy their offensive system. For Hellstar, Jalen Taggart stole the show, scoring a game-high 24 points which included four makes from beyond the arc 😤

Antoine Caughman Jr. continued to show how versatile his game is, putting together a complete stat line of 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. Anthony Pannell is now a big man to watch in the league as he did everything you could want out of a big, logging ten rebounds and four blocks 🤩

For the YNG Dreamerz, Bryson Campbell still appears to be the most capable candidate to fill Isaac Ellis’ shoes, with his night finishing at 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Elsewhere for the Dreamerz, Karson Miles showed off the completeness of his skillset on Saturday night with 20 points and four rebounds in addition to a stellar five steals 😴
