Top Storyline: Are the YNG Dreamerz the team to beat?

The YNG Dreamerz come into the season sitting atop the preseason edition of the Strictly Rankings and for good reason. First and foremost the Dreamerz return OTE MVP and the all-time OTE leading scorer Eli Ellis. Ellis averaged an unfathomable 33.4 PPG last season in leading the Dreamerz to the number one overall seed in the playoffs and all the way to the semi-finals where they eventually fell to RWE. With most of the records in the record book already belonging to him, this year Ellis has his eyes set on a bigger prize: the first title in YNG Dreamerz history ๐Ÿ†

In addition to Ellis, the Dreamerz return another duo of key contributors from last year's regular season champs. Ellisโ€™ little brother and the runner-up for the Next Up award, Isaac Ellis, is back after a successful summer playing for the U18 Overtime Elite team at the Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Germany. Abu Yarmah, also coming off a summer with the U18 OTE team, is back and is looking to improve on a season in which he finished top ten in the league in rebounds and three-point percentage ๐Ÿ‘Œ

While the Dreamerz may have one of the best class of returners in the league, it is the new crop of talent they have added that could push them over the top this year. Kohl Rosario gets added to this roster as a top-100 player in the class of 2026. Rosario, known for his sharpshooting ability and explosiveness, brings an additional shot creator to the roster with the ability to remove some of the burden placed on Eli Ellis. The Dreamerz also brought in Hayden Assemian who will be going to South Carolina to play basketball with Eli Ellis next year ๐Ÿคฏ

The Dreamerz are the early favorites for the title and have the frontrunner for MVP this season. This season looks like it could be what dreams are made of for the Dreamerz and with the collection of talent they have, the first title in program history doesnโ€™t seem to be too far-fetched an idea ๐Ÿ’ค

The Dreamerz will begin their quest for a title on Friday, November 1 at 7 PM against RWE in a rematch of the 2024 semi-finals on YouTube ๐Ÿ“ฑ
