This week features one of the best double headers OTE has seen in a long time, as Friday night features an opening night rematch between the Cold Hearts and RWE and will be followed up with a potential OTE Finals preview between FaZe and the YNG Dreamerz ๐ฅ
The Cold Hearts and RWE faced off in an instant classic on opening night and they will look to bring that same energy into this one. In their first meeting, RWE found themselves seemingly drawing blank, as they were down eight with 30 seconds left to play. However, an epic run that was capped off with a last second Taylen Kinney layup saw RWE tie things up and send the game to overtime. While Cold Hearts fans were experiencing haunting deja vu from blown leads of teams past, the team itself put their heads down and rallied in overtime, as Adam Oumiddoch scored all five points to give the Cold Hearts the dub ๐ฅถ
Since then the two teams have gone in different directions. The Cold Hearts have lost two straight and are in desperate need of a win. Oumiddoch has been playing at an MVP level, averaging 31.0 PPG, and they will need him at his very best to get this win. RWE, on the other hand, dropped both of their games on opening weekend but turned it around last week winning both of their games, including a remarkable 21 point comeback against FaZe. Taylen Kinney had his best performance in RWEโs comeback win, scoring 32 points, including 19 in the fourth quarter ๐คฏ
The second game of the night could be an all-timer between FaZe and the YNG Dreamerz. The Dreamerz may have already forgotten they lost reigning MVP Eli Ellis in the offseason with how well they are playing to start this season. The Dreamerz are 6-0 and have the highest scoring duo in the league in Caleb Jones (28.7 PPG) and Isaac Ellis (27.5 PPG). With such a great start to the season, the Dreamerz now have their sights set on history, as they look to become the first undefeated team in league history ๐
FaZe are second in the standings and are an undoubtedly strong team, however, they have lost two games this season and in both games they have blown big fourth quarter leads to the two other best teams in the league. They blew a 21 point lead to RWE and in their first game ever at OTE they blew a seven point lead with four minutes left to the Dreamerz. Marcus Spears Jr. and DaKari Spear come into this game looking to right those wrongs and prove once and for all that FaZe more than belongs in the contenders tier ๐ฎ
On Saturday, FaZe and the City Reapers will face off for the second time this season in what should be a good battle. The Reapers are coming off of their first win of the season, as they eked out a three point win over Jelly Fam on Tuesday. The last game of the weekend is a semi-finals rematch between the YNG Dreamerz and Cold Hearts. The Dreamerz only return Isaac Ellis from last yearโs Dreamerz squad while all of Adam Oummidoch, Asher Elson, Omari Chaudhry and Marcus Gillespie return from last yearโs upstart Cold Hearts squad ๐ค
